Vehicle owners in Hoima City will today Wednesday, September 18, 2024, resume paying street parking, loading and offloading fees as the authorities embark on increasing revenue sources in the new financial year.
This development was revealed by Hoima City leadership in a public notice signed by the town clerk Godfrey B Kisekka dated September 17, 2024. The fees will be collected by M/s Fuelless Technologies (U) Limited.
Kisekka reveals the daily charges have remained the same with all free parking stickers cancelled until further notice. Drivers and other vehicle owners who park on the streets of Hoima city pay UGX 2,000 on a daily.
“All vehicles must pay until the City Council issues new guidelines for high-ranking persons who are entitled to free parking”- Kisekka added in a notice seen by our reporter.
Kisekka revealed all illegal free parking slots will be closed urging dwellers to pay for street parking to bring order on the streets as well as developing the city collectively.
