A South Sudan’s safari bus has caught fire along the Masindi-Kichumbanyobo road en route to Uganda’s capital, Kampala.

The incident happened Monday morning at around 9 a.m at Murchison Fall National Park’s Kichumbanyobo Gate in Kigarara Village, Buruli Constituency, Masindi district.

Julius Allan Hakiza, the Albertine Regional Police Spokesperson, has confirmed the incident, saying the bus registration number 6887AK 05 was en route to Kampala at the time of the incident.

According to Hakiza, the bus tires heated, which resulted in the fire outbreak, but one casualty was registered.

The police mouthpiece asserted that the fire brigade rushed to the scene and put out the fire.
