Police in Kagadi district have arrested two brothers over the alleged murder of their sibling one Yakobo Byeitaka, aged 45 years.
The deceased is a resident of Kalagi village in Kyezige Sub County, Kagadi District.
According to Julius Allan Hakiza, the Albertine Region police spokesperson, its alleged that the deceased and his brothers Twesigye Bazerio and Monday John were engaged in a wrangle over family land. The disputed land which is located in Kyeisumu village, Kyezinge sub county was being handled by the local council leaders.
Hakiza says on June 20, 2024 at 1pm, Monday John went to the home of the deceased and called him to go and plant boundary marks on the disputed land, but the deceased never came back.
He adds that the next day, the body of the deceased was discovered in a nearby bush and the case was reported at Kyezige police post.
Police picked up the two brothers to help police with investigations.
