The Kagadi district planner Deogratius Tibenda has asked census enumerators to speed up the enumeration exercise if they are to cover the entire district on time.

According to Tibenda, Ugandans should embrace the census activity and urges enumerators to speed up the process in order to have a wider coverage.

The district planner made the appeal during an exclusive interview with Spice FM on the progress of the enumeration exercise in the district.

He further stated that, amidst the challenges they had on the first day, especially in some sub-counties where tablets faced technical glitches, they have rectified it and the enumeration exercise is proceeding well.

Tibenda has however observed that residents are now embracing the enumeration exercise, also asking citizens who are yet to be counted to remain patient, asserting that they will be covered.

He explains that the census exercise would enable government to effectively plan for the development of the country basing on the number of her citizens.
