The Kagadi Resident District Commissioner Lillian Ruteraho who is also the head of security has rushed to Kisinsima village in Isunga Sub-County where three family members were tragically murdered in a span of 24 hours.
On Saturday morning, Raphael Karamagi allegedly killed his elder brother, John Kyamuhangire, aged 55, and his 9-year-old nephew, Lawrence Musinguzi, both residents of Kijonjomi village in Isunga Sub-County, Kagadi district.
According to witnesses, Kyamuhangire was fatally injured while attempting to rescue his son, Musinguzi from Karamagi.
Following the double murder, Karamagi fled the area, and resurface armed with two pangas on Sunday morning, raising suspicion among villagers that he intended to claim more innocent lives.
In a swift and violent act of vigilante justice, enraged residents beat him to death.
Speaking to residents of Kisinsima village, Commissioner Ruteraho blamed the loss of the three lives to the people’s strong beliefs in the revelations of the false prophets, witchcraft, and low levels of civilization among the community members.
Ruteraho says police will investigate the murders thoroughly to ensure that the perpetrators are arrested and arraigned in court for prosecution.
Meanwhile, the Buyaga East MP Eric Musana condemned acts of revenge that he attributes to high poverty levels in the district.
The three bodies were laid to rest Monday as investigations into the matter continues.
