Plans to Celebrate World Tourism Day Underway in Hoima City

Plans are in high gear ahead of the World Tourism Day celebrations that are set to be held in Hoima City under the theme “Tourism and Green Investments”.

Speaking to the press in the boardroom at Hoima City headquarters this morning, Brian Kaboyo the Hoima city mayor says all is set to have the celebrations in the city on September 27, 2023 at Booma grounds.

Kaboyo says with the Tourism Day celebrations forthcoming, a number of activities that include a blood donation, medical camp, Mountain hiking competitions, Explore Bunyoro Campaign, Hoima city carnival, bicycle racing, exhibition, Mayor’s conference among others have all been lined up.

According to the city mayor, the main purpose of the upcoming events is to promote the tourism agenda in Hoima City as well as boosting the incomes of entrepreneurs and business operators in the city.

He further urges communities in the entire Bunyoro region to turn up in big numbers for these activities as well as business owners to prepare enough to tap from these opportunities that come with these celebrations.

The Prime of Uganda Rt Hon Robinah Nabbanja is expected to officiate at the World Tourism Day celebrations that will be held on September 27, 2023 at Hoima Booma grounds.

The tourism celebrations and activities kick off on Monday September 25 up to Sunday October 1, 2023.
