The marine police in Buliisa district are searching for a missing body of one Jampul Farawayi, aged 28-years who drowned in Lake Albert Thursday last week.

The deceased is a resident of Walukuba landing site in Buliisa.

Julius Allan Hakiza, the Albertine region spokesperson says Farawayi drowned in Lake Albert after he was hit by a pressure lamp that he and his colleagues Omirambe Ogwokican and Jackson Amula were using for fishing.

The lamp burst and hit Farawayi burning his clothes hence he fell in the water as a means to put out the fire but unfortunately drowned.

Hakiza says his colleagues tried to rescue him but failed to locate him until now.
