There is heavy deployment in different parts of Hoima district ahead of a planned rally by the National Unity Platform- NUP party president Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu also known as Bobi Wine who is expected to canvass votes for his party’s flag bearer in the Hoima LCV by-election Moses Aguuda.
The deployment beefed with foot patrols is visible in the areas of Hoima City and Kigorobya sub county.
Julius Allan Hakiza, the Albertine region police spokesperson says police has deployed in all the check points around the city to make sure that there is peace and order during the Bobi Wine’s meeting and NUP office opening in Hoima.
Hakiza says for any unlawful assemblies or commotion, police will come in but they are not stopping any lawful assembly.
He however says given the ongoing terror threats, they have heavily deployed and has cautioned the youth against engaging in acts of violence.
