Panic and fear engulfed pupils and teachers at Mihembero nursery and primary school in Bwijanga sub county, Masindi district following an invasion of snakes.

The snakes reportedly attacked pupils in the nursery class after they arrived for classes on Monday morning causing panic among the pupils who ran for their lives at the school compound.

Speaking on the condition of anonymity, a teacher at the school reveals that they were able to kill at least 12 snakes.

He says two weeks ago, snakes invaded the school and were able to kill at least nine of them adding that they are now scared that the snakes may attack them again.

He wonders how such snakes can invade the school at once and now calls for intervention from authorities.

Jonathan Kanyamwenge, the school head teacher confirms the incident saying that they were able to discover a hole in the school compound and they suspect the snakes could have been birthed from there.

He adds that they mobilized for acaricides (Rockets) and sprayed inside the hole and around the school.
