Authorities in Buliisa district have expressed concern over the increasing rate of school dropouts in the district, a factor that has led to an increase in early marriages among the teenagers.

The Buliisa District Community Development Officer CDO Robert Asiimwe says some of the parents are too reluctant on sending their children to school.

Asiimwe says Wanseko town Council has the highest number of school dropouts adding that most of the children engage in fishing activities at Lake Albert while others work at the ferry docking sit especially in the morning hours.

He asked parents to consider the future of their children and ensure that they attain education.

He also promised that government will continue making operations against parents and children in the district until the problem is addressed.
