Kibaale police are holding a 25-year-old man accused of stabbing his sibling to death over 2,000 Shillings. The suspect is Pascal Busobozi while the deceased is Fred Asiimwe 16, both residents of Igomero village in Kayoola parish Bwamiramira sub-county.
The incident happened around 11 pm on Monday night. It is alleged that Busobozi was demanding the deceased 2,000 Shillings that he gave him on Friday last week. The two brothers picked up a quarrel when the deceased failed to pay back prompting Busobozi who was armed with a sharp knife to stab him in the stomach.
He started bleeding profusely and was rushed to EMESCO Health center III where he was pronounced dead on arrival. The family head Edward Kyaligonza says he heard, Asiimwe screaming for help and rushed to see what was happening only to find him lying in a pool of blood.
He says that he mobilized residents who rushed him to the health facility but he breathed his last upon arrival at the health center. Julius Hakiza, the Albertine region police spokesperson, says that residents teamed up and arrested the suspect and handed him over to the police. Police also recovered a blood-stained knife from the suspect.
Hakiza says the suspect who is currently in custody at Kibaale central police station will appear in court for murder.
