KK Security, a GardaWorld company, has announced a new education access initiative aimed at improving education access among young girls in Hoima and Buliisa districts.
Daniel Rweyora, the Technical Solutions Manager KK security says young girls aged 11 to 16 years that will sit for their Primary Leaving Examination in 2022 and performed well in their mock exams but need financial support in joining secondary will qualify to benefit from the KK Security Scholarship Scheme.
Six girls will get the chance to study at St. Andrea Kaahwa’s College in Hoima City for four years of their ordinary secondary education.
Caroline Nyamahunge, the Hoima District Inspector of Schools has thanked KK Security Uganda Limited for the initiative arguing that educating and empowering girls and women improves the lives of individuals, families and communities.
She says when girls and women are educated, they have more employment opportunities and families have higher household incomes.
