A Boda boda rider in Kikuube district who went missing two weeks ago has been found dead. Ambrose Tugumisirize was attached to Wairagaza Boda-Boda stage in Kyangwali Sub County in Kikuube district. Tugumisirize is said to have disappeared after an unknown person hired him from the stage on June 8th, 2021 to ride him on his Bajaj motorcycle registration number UFG O72Q to an unknown location.
His family members and colleagues at the Boda-boda stage mounted a search for him since in vain. They went ahead and made several radio announcements on local station asking anyone with information on his whereabouts to come forward but didn’t get any results. On Wednesday afternoon, Boda-boda riders mounted another search and recovered the deceased’s motorcycle from the house belonging to Robert Isingoma in Kyabasara village in Kimbugu parish in Kabwoya Sub County.
The rowdy Boda-boda riders pounced on Isingoma and beat him severely. This prompted Isingoma to lead the riders to the place where they allegedly killed the deceased and buried his body near Bugoma forest.  Julius Hakiza, the Albertine Region Police spokesperson says that after recovering the deceased’s decomposing body, the rowdy Boda-Boda riders lynched Isingoma accusing him of masterminding the brutal murder of their colleague.
He says that by the time police received information, it was already too late to save Isingoma’s life. Hakiza says that police picked both bodies and handed them to the deceased’s relatives after conducting postmortem.  He says police is currently holding one suspect in connection to the brutal murder of the Boda-Boda rider. According to Hakiza, the suspect, who is identity, has been withheld is currently locked up at Kikuube central police station pending investigations.
