Geoffrey Nkurunziza, the acting Chief Administrative Officer Masindi has said that staff members who have not tested for COVID-19 will not access Masindi district local government headquarters.
Nkurunziza explained that as senior management of Masindi district local government they decided that health workers do mandatory tests to all the district workers to enable them know their status.
According to him, they want to know the health status of all staff and ensure those positive undergo Home Based Care as a way of curtailing the rapid spread of the virus.
Patrick Baguma, the Masindi District Health Officer says after testing, they are going to scale down on the number of staff who report for work to 30%.
Masindi District has 104 cumulative cases of covid16, 16 being managed at home under the supervision of health workers, four under intensive care unit in Hoima and 2 deaths.
