Police in Kagadi is hunting for an 18-year-old man for allegedly hacking and inflicting a deep cut on his biological father’s leg.

The suspect is Kohen Andrew son to Andrew Musinguzi of Kabuga village Muhorro sub county in Kagadi district. The incident happened over the weekend on Saturday.

Andrew, a former S.4 student at Kagadi secondary school accused his father for pressurizing him to prepare to go back to school to join A-Level.

Andrew who is currently on the run obtained 41 aggregate in O-Level at Kagadi Secondary School in 2019 before he fled to Kampala after refusing to join A’ level but recently he returned home.

His father then told him to prepare to go back to school a decision he strongly opposed but instead reportedly asked his father to give him his share of the family land and threatened to end his father’s life should he fail to give him the share of the land.

However, when his father insisted on the decision of taking him back to school he became annoyed and picked a panga and hacked him severely on the leg. He immediately took off to a still unknown destination.

Musinguzi who is currently admitted at Kyakasenene Health Centre II in Kagadi Town council told Uganda Radio Network on Tuesday that he was surprised when he was attacked by his son who hacked him on the leg using a Panga.

He says at the time he was attacked and being hacked, he had bought all that is required to take his son back to school.

Simon Peter Aimai, the officer in charge of operations at Kagadi central police station, says investigation into the matter has commenced adding that the hunt for the suspect is ongoing.
