Kitatta, was last month released from Luzira after his eight-year sentence was reduced by the appeals court of the General Court Martial in Makindye.
Speaking to party supporters at his office in Rubaga, he said he would start from where he stopped to mobilise for the ruling party.
“I find it odd that a party which has been in power for 35 years can continue to lose in some areas of the country. We should be winners everywhere,”Kitatta said.
He noted that he was forced to come out to join the mobilization drive for the ruling party ahead of the primaries but warned he will not tolerate violence during the polls set for today, Friday.
“Whoever thinks they are going to use violence in the primaries should stand warned. NRM should set an example for all other parties on how to do mature politics.”
He urged that only the outright winners should be declared by the NRM electoral commission as flag bearers, or else there would be violence.
Last month, Kitatta was released from Luzira where he had spent close to three years on charges of unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition after being arrested by the army in 2018.
He is however back in the politics fold to canvass votes for the ruling NRM party in the forthcoming 2021 general election.
