Harriet Nabasumbawho lives on Kalangala Island won herself 1,800,000 Uganda shillings. When the hosts of the show ZaharaTotto and PatrickoMujuuka contacted her, she failed to believe that she had won and found herself failing the questions asked because of her unbelief.
“I told them that I live far and they may fail to reach me to deliver the money they said I had won,” she further added excited as she received the money she had won.
Nabasumba, a salon owner was greatly affected with the lockdownand closure of salons yet she had several bills she needed to pay. Despite it all,Nabasumba persevered through it all hoping that things would get better.The money she won through MTN’s MoMoNyabo Together campaign was indeed a game changer for her especially because despite the re-opening of salons, business is generally slow.
While handing over the dummy cheque to Nabasumba, the MTN Area Sales manager IbraSegujja congratulated Nabasumba upon her win and encouraged residents of Kalangala to actively participate by simply using MTN’s mobile money service by dialing *165# or using the MyMTN App for all mobile money related purchases.
Nabasumba said she always uses MoMoPay to buy airtime, solar, sending money to her loved ones. She also added that most times her customers would prefer to pay for her service using MoMo something she would strongly encourage them to do.
