School Leaders, Parents in Hoima City Urge Fellows to Closely Monitor Their Children During Holidays

School heads and parents in Hoima City have implored fellow parents to closely monitor and guide their children during the short second term holidays in order to protect them from risky behaviors.

Speaking to parents, Leonard Kyaligonza, Headteacher at Kitara Nursery and Primary School in Kibingo cell in Hoima West division, he has urged parents to instill discipline in their children and engage them in productive activities while at they are at home  in this holiday. He has also called upon all candidates to use the short holidays to read hard as they prepare for final examinations.

At Duhaga Boys Primary School, Mutono Japheth Mark, speaking on behalf of the school headteacher Mr. Fred Musinguzi, has advised parents living in small spaces to be mindful of their conduct and control themselves during their happy moments in bed because children learn a lot of bad behaviors during holidays.

He has also warned parents on over usage of electronics by their children in which parents have increasingly left phones and Tabs to father and mother their children.

He has also warned parents against child labor during holidays, especially those who send children to hawk merchandize like beans and tomatoes along streets in the City.

At Ebenezer Mary Nursery and Primary School, Francis Ahaisibwe, the Deputy Head Teacher has encouraged learners to help their parents during this holiday.

Some parents who spoke to Spice FM like William Musinguzi, Chairman of Kidomole Market Vendors in Hoima City, advised fellow parents to sit with their children on protecting themselves against distractors who may spoil their dreams of education

Godfrey Atugonza a business man asked parents to fully take care of their children and offer them guidance on proper usage of phones in their studies.
