Hoima District Commissions UGX 590 Million Maternity Facility at Kibiro to Save Mothers.

Communities along Lake Albert shores in Kiganja sub county, Hoima District have got a sigh of relief after the commissioning of the long awaited 590 Million Shillings maternity ward at Kibiro Health Center Two.

The project which was funded by World Bank under Development Response to Displacement Impacts-DRDIP, will serve communities in Kibiro parish where expectant mothers have been grappling with tough escapement terrain to access maternity services at Kigorobya Health Center Four.

The Hoima Assistant Resident District Commissioner Sonko Bongole commended the district leadership for considering to put up such a facility along the Lake Albert Shores to save mothers. He urged health workers and community members to work together and support the facility. He warned residents against resisting government programs adding that health service delivery is a shared responsibility between the government and the population.

The Hoima District Speaker James Mulindambula who is also the district Councilor for Kiganja Sub County said the district will continue to support infrastructure, tourism and health services development along Lake Albert shores communities. He urged local residents to render total support to government programs.

The Hoima District Chief Administrative Officer who was represented by Stephen Mwesigwa committed to deploying more health workers to the health facility.
