A 35-year-old pastor has been remanded to Kibaale Government Prison by the Chief Magistrate’s Court on charges of aggravated defilement involving a 16-year-old girl.

He will remain in custody until November 18, 2025, as investigations continue.
The case was heard before Her Worship Nazifa Namayanja, who identified the accused as Aryatumamya Ruhanga, a Munyankole by tribe and resident of Buguma, Nkenda Parish, in Karama Sub- County, Kibaale District.

Aryatumamya is a religious leader at Heavenly Ministry, a church located in the same area.
According to court proceedings, Aryatumamya had been harboring underage girls at his church for purposes of sexual exploitation.

He is accused of impregnating a 16-year-old girl who later gave birth to a baby boy via cesarean section at Mityana Hospital.

The child was reportedly named after the accused.
It was revealed that the pastor used his position of religious authority to abuse young girls.
