The Albertine Regional Elections Officer has warned aspiring members of parliament to strictly follow the nomination guidelines and meet all the requirements ahead of their nominations mid-October.
Idd Kahwa while Speaking to Spice FM in an interview says it looks embarrassing for aspiring candidates to reach nomination centers only to be turned away by the returning officers over missing requirements, yet they have moved with a team of supporters among others something which necessitates them to be fully prepared for the exercise.
Kahwa says their work as a commission is to ensure that they carry out their activities according to the prevailing laws adding that their crucial role is to implement these laws as passed by the parliament of Uganda.
He says that it is upon the aspiring candidates to have genuine documents and collect the signatures early enough to ensure the process is smooth.
