Stanbic Business Incubator Limited Launches Program Aimed at Empowering Farmers in Bunyoro

As one way of boosting the agricultural sector in the Albertine region, Stanbic Business Incubator Limited has today launched the Albertine Agribusiness Development Program (ADP) aimed at empowering farmers and the agribusinesses sector in the Bunyoro region.

During the launch held at Entwiga Cottages, Catherine Poran, Chief Executive of Stanbic Business Incubator Limited said the program will address key challenges facing farmers including inconsistent production, limited market linkages and financial literacy.

She said they are currently training 30 commercial farmers from the districts of Hoima, Kikuube and Buliisa who will later train their fellow farmers and the project will support them for six months.

Paron said that the program is being implemented in partnership with Uganda National Oil Company (UNOC) to support youths, women, and farmers.

Garden Asaba, Economist and Financial Analyst at PAU expressed that PAU is committed to supporting Albertine Agribusiness needs urging farmers that strengthening cooperatives is key in their success.
