16 Groups to Receive 123 Million Shillings UWEP and YLP Funds in Hoima District.

Women and youth in Hoima District have been urged to use the UWEP and YLP funds to boost their household income.
The government has allocated 96,640,000 UWEP funds to 12 women groups this year and 27 Million shillings YLP funds to four youth groups in Hoima District.
The Hoima District Vice Chairperson Hellen Mulumba while speaking to women and youth representative during a one-day engagement today said that the women and youth should use the funds to boost their enterprises and uplift their income.
The Hoima CAO Ssempala Emmanuel has appealed the beneficiaries of the funds to invest the funds in income generation activities and also improve on their financial discipline.
The Hoima DPMO Dr Charlse Kajura has appealed to the beneficiaries to trust and invest in agriculture because of its approved high return of return on small-scale projects like piggery, goat rearing and crop production.
The Hoima DCDO Keneth Ebong and Senior Development Officer, Joyce Kabatalya and the Women Council leaders participated in the engagement to prepare the beneficiaries on how to use the funds appropriately.
Hoima District is preparing to celebrate the belated women’s day on Friday 27th March 2026 at Butema COU playground in Buhanika Sub County.
