Road safety activists have raised concerns over the negative behaviors among motorists and pedestrians while on the road which put their lives at risks of accidents.

Joseph Beyanga and his team of road safety promoters under the Joe Walker Foundation are currently in Kyankwanzi district as they continue to traverse the Kampala-Kiboga-Hoima Road on foot in their campaign aimed at raising awareness among road users to exercise responsibility on the road in order to minimize on accidents.

Speaking to Spice FM in an exclusive interview this morning, Joseph Beyanga aka Joe Walker says as they continue to move on the road, they have already observed riders’ behavior of drinking alcohol while riding, a culture he warns, is putting many lives at a risk of accidents.

He also says they have witnessed the issue of random crossing and risky entrance into roads by different motorists which he says is also promoting an explosive behavior fueling accidents.

The Joe Walker Foundation team is expected to arrive in Hoima City on Thursday afternoon before being joined by local activists in Hoima City and walk towards the Bunyoro Kitara kingdom offices.

Among other activities slated for Thursday include painting of Zebra crossing along several streets in the City and conducting a radio talk show on Spice FM later in the evening. On Friday morning all road safety promoters will converge at Hoima Booma grounds at 8am before walking to Hoima City stadium which is the final destination for the Kampala Hoima Road awareness and safety walk.
