Albertine South Police Ramp Up Security for Sub County Elections

Police in Albertine South Region have intensified preparations for the upcoming elections later this week as the 2026 election cycle comes to a climax.

Voters in several districts across the country including in Bunyoro will on Wednesday February 4 will head to polls to vote for sub county Chairpersons and parish Councillors while selected Youths across the country will gather at Hoima City Stadium in Hoima East Division on Friday February 6 to elect the National Female Youth Member of Parliament.

Now speaking to Journalists while at his office on Monday, SP Julius Allan Hakiiza the Albertine South Regional Police Spokesperson says they have scaled up their preparations to safeguard the upcoming elections to ensure they are peaceful just like the concluded elections.

Hakiiza says high volumes of people are expected especially on Friday during the election of a Female Youth MP and sometimes the high numbers of people are mixed with criminal elements thereby urging everyone to be vigilant as police and other sister agencies address any issues regarding insecurities.

The Albertine South Regional Police Spokesperson says has commended locals in the region for maintaining peace and order during the just concluded elections urging them to maintain the same spirit in the upcoming elections.
