Security in Kikuube district has assured residents across the district of peace and tight security during the presidential and parliamentary elections which are set to be held next week
This has been revealed Wednesday Morning, Angalia Godwin the Kikuube Resident District Commissioner (RDC) in an exclusive interview with Spice FM as Ugandans including Kikuube residents prepare to go to polls on Thursday January 15.
Angalia says they have been traversing several hotspot areas and sub counties across the district sensitizing the communities on maintaining peace during the elections as well as carrying out voter education.
Angalia says they have held several engagements with communities in Buhuka parish and all landing sites, ghetto places especially in town areas, Bukinda and other refugee areas telling people to turn up for voting and also maintain peace during the exercise. He says some of these areas have been flagged as those with some elements of insecurity.
The RDC says as a district security committee they have already deployed security personnel across each town council and sub county ahead of the next week’s exercise encouraging the residents not to fear because they have enough security as a district.
