The Prime Minister, Robinah Nabbanja, has called on religious institutions, including churches and parishes, to establish demonstration farms as a way of improving household incomes and promoting both the spiritual and economic well-being of believers.
Nabbanja made the remarks on Thursday during Christmas celebrations at Mary Queen of the Rosary Kakindo Catholic Parish in Kakindo Town Council, Kakumiro District.
She said many people lack practical information on wealth creation, noting that demonstration farms set up by churches and mosques would help anchor messages on improving household incomes through agriculture.
The Prime Minister further pledged to support the establishment of demonstration farms in all parishes across Kakumiro District to equip Christians with agricultural knowledge and skills.
Nabbanja also commended President Yoweri Museveni for his consistent emphasis on wealth creation during his countrywide engagements.
She urged Christians celebrating Christmas to protect the gains achieved so far, particularly peace, security, and ongoing infrastructure development in their communities.
Using the Christmas occasion, Nabbanja reminded Ugandans to turn up in large numbers to vote in the general elections scheduled for January 15, 2026, so that President Museveni can continue leading the country.
The Parish Priest of Kakindo Catholic Parish, Rev. Fr. Edward Manyireki, praised the NRM government for its infrastructural developments across the country.
After the Christmas Mass, the Prime Minister planted a commemorative tree at the parish. Meanwhile, the LC III Chairperson of Kakindo Sub-County, Michael Yombo Adyeeri, urged residents of Kakumiro District to support President Museveni, the NRM flag bearer for the presidency, and Prime Minister Nabbanja, who is also the Kakumiro District Woman Member of Parliament flag bearer, in the 2026 general elections.
