Police in Masindi is investigating a case of murder of a 31-year-old man following a land dispute.
The deceased identified as Mathias Mulumba was allegedly shot with arrows during a land dispute on August 25, 2025, and succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday October 15.
The incident occurred in Kimina village, Katugo parish, Kiruli Sub-county, Masindi district. Julius Allan Hakiiza the acting Albertine North Regional Police spokesperson says a case of assault was initially reported on August 27, 2025, and investigations immediately kicked off.
According to Hakiiza, the victim received medical treatment at various hospitals but eventually died yesterday. He adds that a postmortem was conducted and exhibits recovered, including arrows.
He has urged the public to seek legal redress in land cases rather than taking the law into their own hands.
