An angry mob has lynched a 19-year-old boda boda rider for allegedly stealing cattle to wit a goat.
The deceased has been identified as Joseph Batazaire a resident of Ikuma village, Mitembo parish in Kasambya Sub County.
Speaking to Spice FM at his office in Kijungu cell in Hoima City, Julius Allan Hakiza, the Albertine region police spokesperson explained Batazaire was seen by the community members on Sunday riding a motorcycle with another yet to be identified individual while carrying a goat.
He adds that Joseph was beaten to death by mob but the unidentified person he was with at the time of the incident was able to escape and is now being hunted by police to face charges.
He has advised the community against taking laws in their own hands but always report to police whenever such cases happen in their area.
