Two Incumbent LCV Chairpersons in Bunyoro Sub region Lose in Party Flag

Two incumbent LCV Chairpersons in the Bunyoro sub-region have been defeated in the NRM primaries.  They include Uthman Kadir Mugisa, the Hoima LC5 Chairperson and Edith Aliguma of Kiryandongo.

Mugisa was defeated by Vincent Muhumuza Savana, who is the Chairperson of NRM for Hoima district.  Savana polled 18513 votes, representing 55% against Mugisa’s 15012, representing 45%.

Meanwhile, Aliguma lost the NRM flag to Nelson Osaga. Osaga gathered 19469 votes against Aliguma’s 8872 votes. Toffa Kiirya came third with 7687 votes, while Brian Rwamudora emerged in the fourth position with 3070 votes. Tito Yokolamu trailed with 244 votes.

In Kikuube, Peter Banura has been declared the winner of the NRM Flag after he polled 44705 votes representing 85.2% while Samuel Muganzi trailed with 7752 representing 14.8%.

In Kagadi, the incumbent LC5 Chairperson, Yosia B Ndibwami, secured the National Resistance Movement (NRM) party flag. In Buliisa, Fred Lukumu, the incumbent LC5 Chairperson, was declared the NRM Flag bearer after he gathered 7779 votes.

He was followed by Atuhairwe Wandera, who polled 7424 votes, while Simon Agaba Kinene came third with 4724 votes. Ndibwami polled 46,028 votes, defeating three other contenders. He was followed by Elly Gard Tumusiime, who garnered 34,528 votes. Peter Amara came third with 29,848 votes while Peter MugisanSsebugwawo trailed with 3,543 votes. The results were declared by Patrick Mbasiima, the Kagdi district NRM Registrar.

In Kakumiro, Joseph Senkusu Sentayi, the Incumbent LC5 Chairperson, won the flag, beating four other candidates. He polled 33,060 votes, representing 42.83%. He was followed by Gerald Apuuli Semanda, who gathered 17,844 votes, while Moses Kyamanywa secured the third position with 12795votes. Obed Tushabomwe emerged in the fourth position with 10,994. Johnbosco Bukya trailed with 2492 votes.

In Masindi, Godfrey Byaruhanga was declared the flag bearer after garnering 15,276 votes. He was followed by Patrick Wobusobozi, who gathered 11537 votes. David Kyetume Kasanga secured the third position with 4486 votes, while Moses Kiirya trailed with 1193 votes.

In Hoima city, Brian Kaboyo won the NRM flag for the Hoima city mayoral position. He polled 8143 votes, beating two other candidates. Edward Isingo, the Hoima city council speaker, came second with 5392 votes, while Mustafa Kahuma trailed with 873 votes.
