A falling paw tree has killed a-11-month-old child in Kyenzige town council Kagadi district.
The deceased has been only identified as Anita, a daughter to Teacher Jeturidah Katusabe, residents of Kyabasari B Lc1 in Kanyegaramire ward, Kyenzige town council, Kagadi district.
Harelimana Asiimwe, the Kyabasari B LC1 chairman tells Spice FM that the infant died last evening after a paw paw tree fell on her while she was crawling following her mother Katusabe in their back yard.
He says the tree had been left standing in the back yard despite its rotting condition.
Harerimana has further warned residents against growing trees near their residential houses to prevent similar tragedies in future.
A comment from Kagadi Police regarding the incident was unavailable by the time of filling this story.
