Police in Kagadi are investigating circumstances under which a six year old girl was allegedly raped and murdered by her own father in an incident that occurred on Tuesday.
The victim is Kemigisa Kangume while the father who is the suspect is Fred Tugume Byaruhanga, all residents of Kiyonja cell, Nyamiti ward in Muhoro town council.
Julius Allan Hakiiza the Albertine regional police spokesperson says the suspect had previously accused his wife of taking his children away but they had recently returned back at their home.
Hakiiza says police detectives from Kagadi visited the crime scene and conveyed the body of the deceased to the Kagadi hospital mortuary pending postmortem while the suspect has been arrested and detained at Kagadi central police station as investigations continue.
He has condemned the act adding that some of these actions are due to substance use.
