Women in Kikuube district have been implored to take lead in fighting electoral violence as the 2025/26 political season fast approaches.
According to the Kikuube district woman Member of Parliament Flora Natumanya, women need to create bridges of peace and avoid engaging in electoral violence which sometimes destabilizes families.
Natumanya says women need to keep watch on their children during the upcoming campaign season especially monitoring their movements in order to ensure they don’t engage in violence when it tends to break out in trading centers adding that women always calm the situation.
Natumanya also says women need to advise their husbands to avoid being part of violent situations adding that more men tend to engage in electoral activities rather than women however they carry a role of calling for peace at all times.
The Incumbent Woman MP has also challenged voters to choose leaders whom they see a potential to raise their issues or those who have worked for them.
Meanwhile, women in Kikuube will this Saturday June 28 celebrate the Belated International Women’s Day in Ruguse village Bugambe sub county organized by the Woman MP Florence Natumanya with Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja expected to be the chief guest.
