Construction works at Hoima Multipurpose stadium now stand at 60% completion with the December 2025 deadline fast approaching.
According to Murat Altun, the Project Manager for M/s SUMMA Company, works at the stadium are going on well as per the plan and they hope to get the job done by December.
He made the revelation on Tuesday as he addressed Hoima City leaders who had visited the stadium to monitor the ongoing works at the stadium.
He added that they are not completing the roofing of the stadium, and the seat installation now stand at 70% among other ongoing works.
The city leaders commended the government of Uganda for a mega Hoima Multipurpose stadium project that they say is a big opportunity to the communities in the region.
The division leaders who include division Mayors, councillors, officials from the office of the president led by the deputy Hoima East division RCC Moses Muyambi, cell Chairpersons among others were on Tuesday toured the Hoima Multipurpose stadium located in Kyarwiru cell in Hoima East division to see for themselves the ongoing works.
Sarah Balikenda and Mathew Musinguzi, the councillors for Southern and Western Ward to Hoima West and East divisions respectively have commended the presence of the project in the region adding that this has already created employment opportunities for the thousands of local people.
Patrick Bagire the Chairperson of Kihule cell in Hoima East division has implored locals to set up farms and accommodation facilities as they prepare to benefit from the huge project in the area.
Bosco Muhanuzi the Hoima East division mayor has commended the ongoing works saying locals need to embrace planting fruit trees and crops as they prepare top in the opportunities that come with the presence of the stadium in the area.
Moses Muyambi the Hoima East division RCC encouraged the locals show love for the presence of the stadium in the city and use it to develop themselves by starting up businesses in order to tap from the huge population that will visit the stadium.
