Albertine Regional Police Divided into Two Regions to Bring Services Closer to Communities

The Albertine regional police has been divided to into two regions in order to be bring services nearer to the communities in Bunyoro sub region.

The new regions are Budongo region which covers Buliisa, Masindi and Kiryandongo districts. The other region remains as Albertine which covers Hoima City, Hoima, Kikuube, Kagadi, Kakumiiro and Kibaale districts.

Speaking to journalists this morning from his offices in Kijungu, SP Julius Allan Hakiiza, the Acting regional police spokesperson for the two regions has confirmed the development adding that the police leadership has already assigned a regional police commander (RPC) ACP Damali Nachuha to command the Budongo region.

Meanwhile among other changes, SSP John Rutagira who has been the district police commander (DPC) in Hoima district has been transferred to Serere district.  SP Lillian Birabwa replaces him in Hoima district with immediate effect. Hakiiza has disclosed that these are normal changes in the force and the officers are always set and ready for the tour of duty.
