Shock has engulfed residents of Kiryatete Mandela West cell in Hoima West division, Hoima City after an FDC aspiring candidate was found dead in his house.

The deceased has been identified as Andrew Kyalisiima in his 30’s and a chapati baker and has been residing in Mandela for about 5years. The deceased originates from Mabale Sub County in Kagadi district.

Godfrey Mucwa the Kiryatete West LC1 defense secretary, says he was alerted by residents about the death of Andrew which prompted him to inform police about the incident.

Mucwa added that the deceased has been an aspiring flag bearer for western ward to Hoima City west division on FDC ticket. He suspects the deceased could have died due to suffocation since he used to cook beans for business inside the house.

Moris Mwebaza, a resident in the same area disclosed that the deceased has been missing for two days which prompted residents to break into his house only to find him already dead. He described the late Andrew as a humble person who had no problem in the area.

He asked local council chairpersons to always get data of their residents for quick identification in case of hard times.

Mr Julius Allan Hakiiza the Albertine region police spokesperson has confirmed the incident adding that investigations are underway to establish the cause of his death.
