The Hoima district education officer have cautioned parents against keeping school-going children at home and says that those who fail to heed, risk arrest.
According to Harriet Kihumuro, she has received reports from head teachers of many parents who are still failing to return children to schools reportedly due to lack of scholastic materials while others are busy helping in plantations.
Kihumuro’s comments come three days after the reopening of schools for second term 2025 across the country where she has revealed that some schools have so far recorded a less than 20% turn up indicating that many parents are still keeping their children at home during school time.
She says that district leadership they have resolved to move with police in their operations to help them arrest parents found with school going children.
