Kibaale police are investigating two brutal murders that have left residents in fear and shock. The killings happened in separate sub-counties under unclear circumstances.

In Nyamarunda Town Council, 49-year-old Bosco Agaba, a resident of Kyamalime Cell, was found gruesomely murdered by unknown assailants.

His body was discovered with the head and other parts severed.

Agaba was reportedly involved in a decade-long land dispute with family members, which locals believe could be linked to his murder.

Justine Namugabi, a mother of four and Bosco’s partner, described how her child expressed fear after hearing rumors of Bosco’s death.

Jacob Mukonyezi, the Kyamalime Cell chairperson, condemned the killing. He suspects the body was dumped in the area after Bosco was murdered elsewhere.

Meanwhile, in Kikumbya Village, Kabasekende Sub County, another gruesome murder was reported.

Jackson Muryambogo, a 65-year-old resident, was found dead by the roadside early on Monday, just 60 meters from the main road near Kabasekende Primary School.

His body bore deep cuts, and an axe—suspected to be the murder weapon—was recovered at the scene along with tomatoes, onions, and packets of cooking oil.

Sources suggest Muryambogo may have been returning home from Kabasekende Trading Centre when he was attacked.

He had reportedly been in conflict with his wife, Florence Nyamaizi, who had previously chased him away from their home.

She has since been taken into custody as a suspect, though police say investigations are ongoing.

Local leaders, including LC1 Vice Chairperson Muhereza Senkima and community elder Sabataka Benyumize, condemned the act and described Mukryambogo as a peaceful resident.

Both bodies were taken to Kibaale Health Centre IV for postmortem as investigations by the respective police stations continue.
