The Hoima City Election Administrator Ms. Esther Asiimwe has revealed that there will not be any extension for the display exercise of the national voters’ register after the exercise is concluded today Thursday May 15.
Speaking to our reporter from her office in Kijungu cell, Hoima East division on Wednesday, Ms. Asiimwe noted that, given the number of activities lined up ahead, there will not be any extension of the exercise adding that locals of qualifying voting age should utilize the only remaining one day which is today to make all the necessary corrections in preparation of the 2025/26 general elections.
Ms. Asimwe has also commended the voters who have already turned up in good numbers to confirm the accuracy of their details in the register and she has disclosed that their teams will be coming back from the field by 6PM on Thursday after the completion of the exercise.
The Election Administrator has further disclosed that a five member parish tribunal will sit later on Friday to review and approve any changes that need to be made in the register before the Electoral Commission can display these changes for the next 10 days.
Banabas Tugume, the Assistant Resident Commissioner (A/RCC) for Hoima East division has called on voters who are currently engaged in their political party elections and activities to mind about ensuring they are in the national voters’ register if they are to participate in the general elections organized by the Electoral Commission.
