Police in Kibaale District are holding a 35-year-old Gerald Byabasaija alias Osama, a casual laborer accused of killing his fellow casual worker following a misunderstanding allegedly over an unidentified lady.
The deceased is David Kamuhanda aged 50 and they were casual laborers of Tadeo Senjubu in Kajuma Village, Matale Sub County in Kibaale District.
It is alleged that the duo got misunderstands during a hang out in the wee hours of last night at Kabengeya trading center over an unidentified lady they both picked love interest into.
Their employer, Senjubu narrates that after reaching home, the suspect picked a sharp stick that he used to clobber the deceased and also hacked him to death before dumping the body into their Boss’s Pit latrine.
Senjubu adds that the suspect upon interrogation confessed to have killed his colleague.
Residents led by the Sub County District councilor Charles Asiimwe alia Watermelon and Pascal Babyehugya the village Chairperson have condemned the act.
By press time, the body had been retrieved from the latrine and conveyed to Kibaale health center IV for postmortem as investigations continue but the Police could not comment on the murder.
