All is set for the village elections for the National Resistance Movement (NRM) party that is slated to be held today across the 72000 party polling stations in the country. The exercise will involve elections of party structures and LC1 Chairperson Flag bearers.

Speaking to the district registrar Mr. Joseph Kutegeka on Monday in an exclusive interview, he revealed that the training for sub county and town council party registrars was completed on Sunday while the party parish and village registrars were trained yesterday ahead of today’s elections.

Kutegeka disclosed that they have already dispatched polling materials to all the polling stations in the district adding that the exercise will kick off with a Baraza purposely for verification of members’ details in the yellow book before elections can kick off from midday to 2pm.

He further disclosed that during the exercise, all positions in the party structures will be filled where he says nominations will be done and elections conducted on the same day for any vacant positions.

The district registrar has rallied party members to turn up for the exercise in their villages and has cautioned contestants against engaging in violent activities since elections are just for a short season and live later moves on.
