Parents have been urged to monitor their children’s behaviour during holidays to guard them against potential risks during their stay at home.
The call has been made by Ms. Caroline Nyamahunge, the Hoima City Inspector of Schools, while speaking to Spice FM exclusively.
Caroline says parents need to monitor their children while at home adding that some of them get spoilt due to what they watch on TV and phones which in the long run affects their future.
She has furthermore asked parents to engage their children in activities that will add value to their lives citing vocational training among others.
She has also cautioned school heads to verify the data of their learners ensuring they only enter correct details before uploading it on the system in the ongoing e-Registration exercise.
Addressing on the issue of lack of enough teachers, the inspector of schools has disclosed that since interviews for teachers kicked off, as the City education department they are optimistic that they will get about 80 teachers to fill the gaps that currently exist in over 30 City schools.
