The Minister for Finance, Planning and Economic Development, has condemned the continued leadership deadlock in Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom which he says has kept the kingdom backward.
Hon Matia Kasaija who is also the Member of Parliament for Buyanja County has revealed that while in their counties, they have witnessed fights for power in the kingdom by different parties using the disposable nature of the King.
Kasaija disclosed the leadership of the kingdom to work towards uniting the subjects instead of engaging in fighting for power adding that through a united force they will be able to have a higher bargaining power from the central government in terms of support to the Kingdom.
Minister Kasaija expressed worries of the risk of extinction of Bunyoro cultural norms in the some years to come if there are no efforts put in place to build the oldest cultural institution collectively.
The minister was speaking at the requiem service of the late Christopher Mpaka the former tutor at Bulera core teachers’ college and also the father to Hoima City Businessman Eng. Jonard Asiimwe in Kisweeka cell, Kyentale Ward in Hoima East division in Hoima City
