26-Year-Old Kagadi Man Sentenced for Theft

Kagadi grade one magistrate’s court presided by his worship Edward Kayuuki has sentenced a 26-year-old man to Mambugu government prison over charges of theft.

The accused has been identified as Wilson Turyatunga a resident of Rugashali town council in Kagadi district.

Court heard that, the accused and others still at large while in Rugashali town council broke into the store of Philimone Nibizi a resident of Rugashali town council and stole 175kg of maize worth Ugx 300, 000.

While in the dock, the accused pleaded guilty which has prompted the magistrate to hand him 1 year and 11 months jail and after serving the punishment, he also compensates the complainant with Ugx 100,000.

Meanwhile, the same court also remanded a 27-year-old man to Mambugu government prison over alleged theft charges.
The accused is Kisembo Kibuuka a resident of Kahunde Lc1 in Isunga Sub-County,Kagadi district.

Court presided over by His worship Edward Kayuki heard that the accused and his accomplices still at large on 18th February, 2025 stole a luggage of clothes valued at Ugx 3.2 M property of Steven Kasungwa a resident of Kyomukama B Cell in Kagadi town council.

While in the dock, the accused pleaded not guilty which prompted court to send him to Mambugu government prison on remand till 6thJune, 2025 for further case hearing.
