The Hoima deputy resident city commissioner for Hoima East division has tasked all cell Chairpersons to collaborate with the city security committee by organizing meetings in order to tackle the growing insecurities in the City.
Several dwellers have recently expressed worry over insecurities in their areas with thieves and other criminal gangs breaking into their houses and stealing their animals and other property. Most affected are the Parish Development Model- PDM beneficiaries.
Now, during the disbursement of PDM in Hoima East division on Tuesday afternoon, Moses Muyambi tasked all local leaders especially Chairpersons LCIs to ensure they organize meetings with the local people at cell level and use it to address the security issues in their areas.
He adds that security begins at individual level adding that during the security meetings they ask locals to name the people they suspect they are engaged in stealing and other criminal cases such that security can deal with them adding that most of the robbery gangs are natives, sons and daughters from their areas.
He has called for cooperation from the locals to tackle the security question in which he noted that thieves who steal the property of the locals like goats, pigs and chicken by beneficiaries of programs like PDM, they have stolen government funds which affects their success.
