The Albertine region has been allocated 700 positions in the ongoing recruitment exercise of Probation Police constables as the Uganda police force seeks to strengthen its human resource targets with the implementation of the Sub county policing model taking centre stage.
This week the Director of Police Human Resource Management, Brig Gen Jesse Kamunanwire, announced the recruitment of 10,000 probation police constables across the country.
Now, while launching the sub county policing model in Kyabigambire Sub County in Hoima district on Thursday, Anatole Muleterwa, the Commissioner for Police in charge of community policing, confirmed the development, noting that the ongoing recruitment is based on quarters and their focus is to recruit only those Ugandans aged between 18-25 years who have national identity cards (IDs) in a bid to boost their manpower.
Muleterwa called on all locals in the region to embrace this opportunity by preparing their documents and present them to the respective authorities adding that the target is for those with senior four certificates and having completed in the recent years from 2021.
SSP Titus Byaruhanga, the deputy regional police commander for Albertine region, revealed as police they are ready to take in the children from the area tipping parents to take their children for education.
He emphasized that the entire process is transparent and no money should be charged by any officer during any stage of recruitment.
Police human resource department revealed earlier on anyone wishing to be part of the 10,000 recruits must submit hand-written application addressed to the IGP, accompanied by photocopies of academic documents, photocopy of the National identity Card, three recent passport size photographs, identity card or introductory letter from the previous school and recommendation letters from LCI, LCIll and RDC.
The documents should be delivered to the Police District or Divisional Headquarters not later than Friday. 21st March 2025
