Following a surge in violent robberies, Police in Hoima have launched a proactive operation to apprehend suspected thugs who use boda bodas to terrorize residents during nighttime.

According to Julius Allan Hakiza, Albertine Region Police Spokesperson, thugs have been using boda bodas to target unsuspecting pedestrians, demanding that they hand over their valuables before assaulting them with iron bars or stubbing them.

Hakiza says they are doing everything possible to arrest these perpetrators revealing that police intelligence is actively gathering information on the ground.

Hakiza urged anyone with relevant information about the unidentified thugs to come forward and inform the police, stressing the importance of community cooperation in combating crime.

He says the police operation aims to restore safety and security in Hoima, particularly at night, and to bring the perpetrators to justice.
