The Kagadi RDC Lillian Ruteraho has warned the bar owners against employing young girls as bar maids.

She sounded the warning during an interview with Spice FM at her office in Kagadi town council, Kagadi district.

She cautioned against sex exploitation and child labor warning of a possible operation on all bars and lodges using underage girls.

Following the growth of Kagadi town and other urban centers in the district, there has been a business boom characterized by an influx of people coming from various places into the major towns in the district, notably the bar and lodge industry is also increasing.

However, Ruteraho says, most of the bars and lodges are taking advantage to employ the young girls, cautioning girls against sex exploitation.

She warns that security has plans to make an operation around Kagadi town and other urban centers and whoever will be found employing young girls will be arrested.

The Kagadi RDC also asked parents to educate their children, emphasizing the importance of education in fighting poverty and ignorance in the communities.

Ruteraho threatens to arrest all errant parents whose children are still in villages, emphasizing that all children must return to school.
