Kamuli police are holding a woman for allegedly attempting to murder her husband by cutting off his genitals. The suspect, identified as Nabirye Kevin, is a resident of Buguwa Village, Kawaga Parish, Balawoli Sub-county, Kamuli District. The victim has been identified as 37-year-old Mathias Bwamiki.
The incident reportedly occurred on February 18, 2025, at around 11:00 PM at their residence in Kamuli. According to Bwamiki, he was asleep when he suddenly felt a sharp pain in his genitals, prompting him to wake up and defend himself. He claims that after realizing what she had done, his wife accused him of comparing her to women on TikTok.
Bwamiki further alleges that his wife warned him that if he “tempered with her,” she would take poison. Busoga North Police spokesperson, Michael Kasadha, stated that preliminary investigations indicate that the victim’s brother, Godfrey Mukubo , received a distress call from Bwamiki informing him of the attack.
Upon reaching the scene, Mukubo found his brother in a pool of blood, still struggling with his wife. He intervened and later reported the matter to the police. Bwamiki was rushed to Kamuli General Hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment.
Kasadha confirmed that police have recovered exhibits of evidential value from the crime scene and that further investigations are ongoing. He also noted that similar incidents have been reported in the region, recalling a series of related cases from 2024. Police have urged the public to resolve domestic disputes peacefully and avoid resorting to violence.
