OPM Supports Kagadi District Local Governement With Sh212m to Promote Commercial Agriculture

Kagadi district local government has received Ugx 212, 599,905 from the Office of the Prime Minister to support vulnerable groups and promote commercial agriculture in the district.

The dummy cheque was delivered to the district vice chairman Vincent Ssemuga by the state minister of state for Bunyoro affairs Janepher Namuyangu Kakya during a stakeholders meeting held at the district headquarters on Thursday.

Minister Namuyanga said the funds will support the vulnerable groups as seed capital to start home investments and also support the nursery bed operators dealing in coffee and cocoa.

Vincent Ssemuga, the Kagadi district LCV Vice Chairperson advocated for the elevation of Kagadi hospital to a regional referral status and acquisition of Kagadi district ambulance to Improve on health services.

Meanwhile, after the meeting, the minister conducted a monitoring exercise at Kagadi model primary school and commended the Kagadi district leadership for the tremendous work in renovating the school.

She pledged to support the school with over 200 iron sheets to roof more classroom structures.
